EUSD is pleased to announce that the testing window will be opening for Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) identification. All 2nd-grade students will have the opportunity to participate in universal screening in November. In addition, parents and teachers may recommend students not previously screened in grades 3 through 8 to be screened for GATE eligibility. Parents can pick up the Parent Background and Input Form in the school’s front office starting on October 5th and should return it to the school by Friday, October 30th. A school team will review requests and determine which students will be eligible to be screened in November. For more information, please visit our district website or stop by your school office. The EUSD GATE website (opens in a new tab) is available for parents to reference.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION

"Every Day Counts — Cada Dia Cuenta," artwork by Isabella Diaz-Hernandez, 5th Grade Rose Elementary School, showing a boy climbing staircase steps labeled with days of the week and motivational phrases, with school subjects signs, a school building, and a "Success" flag at the top.
  • Rose Elementary School student wins the 2026-2027 EUSD Attendance Poster Contest! We are so proud of the amazing artwork by one of our very own! Way to go Isabella! You are right, EVERY DAY COUNTS! CADA DIA CUENTA!
  • We have seen a significant increase in students arriving to school late. When students arrive late, they are marked tardy. By arriving late to school, even three to five minutes, students miss out on valuable instruction and opportunities to engage with their classrooms' daily schedule. The first bell rings at 7:55 and all students should be in their classroom line, ready to start the day. Students are considered tardy, if they are not in their line when the second bell rings at 8:00.
