Hello Bobcat Families,

This week we had our first Wheel classes. Students learned about music, art, and science! They will get to participate in these classes every other week. Meet the Wheel Team teachers in the attached picture and be sure to ask your kiddo about their class!

A valid photo ID is required to sign out a student, even if we know you!

An early or late pick-up of a student also requires a valid I.D. of the parent, guardian, or authorized person. The following will be acceptable forms of identification to help facilitate this process the identification must be valid, or if the identification has expired, it must have been issued within the past five (5) years:

A valid state-issued driver’s license; a valid state-issued identification card; a valid United States passport; a valid foreign passport; a valid foreign driver’s license; a valid permanent Resident Alien Card; and a valid military identification card.

Valid identification cards must contain the following:
The photograph of the signer; the physical description of the signer; a serial or identifying number on the identification; and the signature of the signer.

No exceptions.

We Crushed Our Membership Goal!
Our back-to-school Membership Drive has officially ended, and we are so excited to share that 108 members joined Felicita PTA during our back to school membership drive!

Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, teachers, staff, family members, community members, and even students who joined and helped us surpass our goal of 100 members!

And remember - while our Membership Drive is over, PTA membership is still open all year!

PTA Association Meeting — September 16
Join us for our first PTA Association Meeting of the year!

Kids are welcome and light refreshments will be available. Come hear what we have planned, share your ideas, and help shape what PTA does this year.

Plus, perfect attendance has its perks! Attend every PTA Association Meeting this year and you could earn a special end-of-year prize.

Read-A-Thon Starts September 21!
Get those books ready! Our Felicita Read-A-Thon begins Monday, September 21 and runs through October 5.

Students will have two weeks to read, track their progress, and help raise money for Felicita. Check those backpacks for Read-A-Thon information and register now!

Need some extra reading time? Students can visit the school library with Ms. Janet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, after dismissal, to get some reading minutes in!

Parents’ Night Out - September 25
Need a grown-ups-only night out? Join us at Belly Up for Happy Hour for a Cause with Atomic Groove!

Tickets are $12 in advance / $14 at the door, and $2 from every ticket sold will be donated to Felicita PTA.

Friday was the last day of our attendance challenge. One lucky winner, announced on September 14, will receive four tickets to FUNBOX, Escondido's brand-new inflatable bounce park. Remember, Every Day Counts!

Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.

Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
1. Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
2. Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
3. Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
4. School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.

This year our attendance goals are as follows:
Average Daily Attendance: 94%
Chronic Absenteeism: 20%

Explore classes officially begin on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Pickup Location: All student pickups will take place at the Tulip Street Gate.

Dismissal Times: Most classes end at 3:40 PM, with a few exceptions:
MOSAIC Theater (Monday & Wednesday): Ends at 4:10 PM
Ballet Folklórico / Favel Tradición (Tuesday & Friday): Ends at 4:10 PM

Openings Available! We still have spots open, and Cooking, Dance, and Music are now open to 1st graders! If you would like to enroll your student, please fill out the Google Form.
