From the Desk of Dr. Norton
Hello Panther Families,
I hope you have enjoyed a wonderful summer with your family. As we prepare to begin another school year together, I want to personally welcome both our returning Panthers and the many new families joining the Hidden Valley community. We are looking forward to a year filled with meaningful learning, strong relationships, and opportunities for every student to grow. This year, our our commitment is clear: Every Panther Has a Path: Learn. Lead. Belong.
These three words guide every decision we make. We want every student to be challenged academically, discover their strengths, develop confidence as a leader, and know they belong at Hidden Valley. Throughout the year, I will use this newsletter to keep you informed about the exciting work happening at Hidden Valley, celebrate our students and staff, share upcoming events, and provide a window into the learning taking place across our campus.
Before students arrive, our teachers will spend two days focused on preparing meaningful learning experiences for the year ahead. They will collaborate to design engaging Project Based Learning experiences, plan the first six weeks of instruction, and align lessons and assessments to ensure every student has a strong start. This year, you will also hear us talking about reading, writing, academic vocabulary, and student discussion across every classroom as we continue strengthening instruction for all students.
While academics are at the heart of our work, we know that students are most successful when they feel connected to their school community. Through Wellness, Advisory, electives, after school programs, athletics, leadership opportunities, and the caring relationships our staff builds with students every day, we are committed to ensuring every Panther feels supported, valued, and inspired to grow.
We also know that our strongest partnerships begin with you. We invite you to be an active part of the Hidden Valley community this year. Attend Back to School Night, join us for student showcases and family events, volunteer when you can, participate in ELAC or School Site Council, cheer on our students at performances and athletic events, and stay connected with your child's teachers. Your involvement makes a difference, and together we can create the best possible experience for every Panther. Thank you for your continued partnership and for trusting us with your child. I look forward to another incredible year as we continue helping every Panther learn, lead, and belong.
