A Note from Our School
Thank you to the families who attended our first Family Literacy Night last evening! It was a fabulous night with approximately 240 family members in attendance. Seeing families enjoy the staged reading of “Colorin, Colorado,” enjoying games and reading, free books, eating together, and engaging with community partnerships was incredible! We look forward to building on this event next year and hope to see you all!
Fall Picture Day- Friday, September 18
**Picture Day is right around the corner! We’re excited to capture your student’s photo on Friday, September 18th.
Please remember to place your picture orders as soon as possible. Teachers sent home the flyer with ordering information this week. Please check your child’s backpack. We look forward to a great Picture Day!**
Every Day Counts - Attendance Challenge
We struggled to reach our goal of 96% attendance this week. There are several illnesses going around, but as a reminder, students can attend school with minor colds and coughs but are required to stay home with fever or diarrhea. At school we continue to remind students to wash their hands frequently and cough or sneeze into their arm or shirt to prevent spreading germs. Please remind your students as well so we can get through this wave of illness.

ELAC: Monday, Sept. 14 8:15 in Room 23: ELAC meeting (English Language Advisory Committee) This is for families of English Language Learners and you will receive important information regarding programs to help students reclassify. Please join us!
Coffee with the Principal - TK-1 Focus Tuesday, Sept. 15th 8:15 in Room 23: Coffee with the Principal. Join us for an informal conversation with our principal, Ms. Jimenez. In order to meet the specific needs of different grade levels, this year we will have three opportunities to have Coffee with the Principal. This first meeting is focusing on TK, Kinder and 1st grade families, but all grades are welcome.
Family Days at Lunch
**We had a great turn out this past week for our 4th and 2nd grade Family Days at Lunch. We are looking forward to hosting our 5th and 3rd grade this week. Our TK, Kinder, and 1st grade are the following week.
If you are unable to make it to campus this first time, don’t worry, we have another opportunity coming later in the school year. **
