Tomorrow, the new school year begins! If your child seems a little nervous, please reassure her/him that being nervous is normal and our teachers and even Mr. Lyche will have some butterflies in his belly as we begin the new year together.

During this first week of school, our students will be spending a great deal of time getting to know one another through many fun and engaging activities. They will also be learning the routines and procedures for all aspects of the school day. We call this first week our "WOW" week or "Week of Welcome" which is designed to help kick the year off with the warmth, kindness, fun, and love that is the essence of Quantum.

Beginning this Thursday and continuing every Thursday through the end of the year, school will dismiss at 12:30 for all grades. Please be sure to have your after-school arrangements in place!

If you haven't already done so, please be sure to download the Rooms App as that is our teachers' primary mode of communication with families.

Personal Electronics (cell phones, personal headphones, Airpods, smartwatches, etc.) must be turned off and stored while on campus.

Smartwatches can be worn but should be set in "school mode" so that students cannot use the calling and texting features.

Due to privacy concerns, any type of glasses with cameras in them (Meta Glasses, etc.) are not allowed at any time.

For students who do not adhere to these policies, we will utilize our progressive discipline system:

• 1st offense - Device taken which student picks up at end of day
• 2nd offense - Student pick up device at end of day and a phone call home
• 3rd offense - Caregiver pick up the device in the office and consequences
• After the 3rd offense, caregivers and students will be asked to leave the phone at home or check it in to the front office daily, and we will utilize additional progressive consequences.

Save the date for our Back to School Night and PTA Meeting/Community Dinner Wednesday, August 26th. The schedule is as follows:

• 4:45: Principal Message and PTA meeting
• 5:30: Free Community Dinner compliments of our PTA
• 6:00-7:00: Teacher Sessions

PTA is looking for four volunteers to help set up, serve and clean up pizza & drinks for the Community Dinner on August 26. Volunteers will be helping from 5pm - 6:15pm and still be able to attend their classroom presentation from 6:30 - 7pm.
