Quantum Academy Parent Bulletin #4

We had a great end to our first week of school with Aquatica Day! Our 7th graders put together a fun-filled day for our school community, and everyone had a great time. We were also happy to have our Deaf & Hard of Hearing students from LR Green and our MTU friends join us for the day!

A big thank you to our 7th graders, teachers, and parent volunteers for making it all possible!

When the weather heats up, it's always a balance for us to give our students opportunities to move and play while keeping them safe and hydrated. When the temperature goes above 95 degrees, we implement our heat day procedures and keep students inside during recess and PE.

Students are encouraged to always bring a water bottle to school with them. Please write your child's name on them in case we find them left around campus! We have drinking fountains in every classroom and around campus for students to refill anytime during the day.

While our school district provides all of the essentials that our teachers need for their classroom, here at Quantum we go far above and beyond to provide an extraordinary learning experience. To do this, our classes often request unique supplies which we're hoping parents might consider donating.

Our district is excited to once again offer a band elective to our students. Band will take place during school on Tuesday mornings (students who participate will not miss out on instruction in core academic areas). To register your child for a class, please click the link below.

Please note that the form says "Elementary Band" but it applies to all of our Quantum students in grades 4-8.

We are beginning the process of electing members to our School Site Council (SSC) for the 2026-2027 school year. The SSC consists of parents, teachers, and support staff who meet four times per year to:

• Consider the needs of all students.
• Evaluate the progress of the school educational program.
• Develop, review, and update the school site plan and school safety plans.

If you are interested in being nominated to serve on our SSC, please click the interest form link below. Nominations are due no later than 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 4. If more than 5 parents are nominated, an electronic vote will take place.

Join us for our Back to School Night and PTA Meeting/Community Dinner this Wednesday, August 26th.

The schedule is as follows:

• Parking available in the Orange Glen Elementary parking lot.
• 4:45-5:30: Principal Message and PTA meeting in the Great Hall
• 5:30: Free Community Dinner compliments of our PTA
• 6:00-6:25: Teacher Session #1 (Sessions 1 & 2 will be identical)
• 6:30-6:55: Teacher Session #2 (Sessions 1 & 2 will be identical)
• While this evening is designed for parents, we will have supervision on the playground for any parents who need to bring their children.

Join us for our Quantum Academy Community Dinner this Wednesday in the lunch area starting at 5:30. We will have hot Costco Pizza and water!
