Doctors Notes & Accommodations

Unfortunately, children may experience injuries on or off campus which may require medical care (Mr. Lyche remembers breaking his wrist playing kickball at recess as a 4th grader back in the day!).

We care deeply about our students and want to make sure we address their health needs appropriately. Please note the guidelines below regarding medical notes and campus accommodations.

Medical Clearance & Devices: If your child was treated by a healthcare provider and requires an assistive device (such as a cast, brace, splint, sling, walking boot, wheelchair, crutches, knee scooter or cane), an official medical note is required stating they are cleared to safely be on campus with the device.

PE & Accommodations: Medical notes must detail any needed accommodations and include explicit start and end dates for missed Physical Education (PE) classes.

Medications at School: A written doctor’s order is strictly required for any medication that needs to be administered during the school day, including over-the-counter drugs.

We appreciate all of the communication that we have with our Quantum families so please don't hesitate to contact our front office at any time with questions or concerns.

Labor Day - No School

There will be no school next Monday, September 7 in honor of Labor Day. Enjoy the 3-day weekend!

Birthdays

While we appreciate the joy and excitement that accompanies our students’ birthdays, district policy prohibits bringing food items to class to celebrate. Instead, we encourage parents to consider other celebratory alternative to such as goodie bags pencils, stickers, stamps, etc. for classmates.

We also invite parents to have their child’s name posted on our marquee as part of our PTA’s “Birthday Marquee” program. Submit the Birthday Marquee form along with $10 and we’ll post your child’s name on the marquee.

4th Grade Family Lunch Day on 9/16

We host two Family Days at lunch for families per grade level per year where we invite families to come and hang out with their Quark(s) during lunch. Please refer to the School Events Calendar for the days by grade level (we'll also share them in our weekly bulletins as they get closer).

Our first family lunch day will be for 4th grade students on Friday Sept 16th at 11:00-11:40. Families can bring food for their child or your child can eat the school lunch. Families must remain in the designated lunch area and we ask that students stay in school until the end of the day.

We hope to see all our 4th grade families there!

4th/5th Grade Movie & Munchies on 9/17

Our first Movie & Munchies event for 4th & 5th graders will take place on Thursday, September 17th from 12:30-2:30.
