Quantum Academy Parent Bulletin #6

To build community, foster school spirit, and promote relationships across our grade levels, students are arranged into one of five different houses, similar to the concept in Harry Potter where students compete for points in hopes of winning the Quantum House Cupat the end of the year!

This week and last were both House Weeks where students spent the last hour of our school day learning about the history of Quantum and engaged in the collaborative process by designing and making their House mascots. This Friday, we will have a school-wide assembly to unveil the mascots and see which House is leading the way with points so far!

Please be patient and follow the rules of the road around our school. We have had some parents pulling around cars and speeding down Falconer. That type of behavior is dangerous and we would all be devastated should a student or adult ever get hit by a vehicle.

Our family lunch day for 4th grade students will take place on Wednesday, Sept 16th at 11:00-11:40. Families can bring food or your child can eat the school-provided lunch.

After eating, families are invited to join students on the playground if they would like. After lunch is over, we ask that students stay in school until the end of the day.

We are excited to host our first movie and munchies event for our 4th & 5th grade students on Thursday, September 17 from 12:45-2:45. The movie will be "Ratatouille."

Price: Free to all Quantum students who demonstrate safe, responsible, and respectful behaviors.

Our PTA is looking for volunteers to help with set-up, concession sales, and clean up. Please click below if you can help.

Snacks, soda, and water will be sold at the event. Students may bring cash for those concessions or parents may use the new pre-pay option set up by our PTA. Click the link below to access that option.

ELAC is a group of parents and staff who work together to support the success of English Learner students, providing parents a voice in school decisions while helping ensure all families feel informed, included, and supported. ELAC meetings are held four times during the school year and all parents are invited to attend.

We currently have three open chair positions on our ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee):
