4th Grade Genius Hour
Last week, our 4th graders presented their first Genius Hour projects of the year! It was exciting to see the unique ideas, interests, and questions students chose to explore. We loved welcoming parents to campus to watch their students present their projects and share what they’ve been learning. We’re proud of our Quarks for taking the lead in their learning and bringing their curiosity to life!
Stay tuned for info about future Genius Hours for all of our Quarks that will take place later this school year.

We’re heading into Week 2 of fundraising and we’re crushing it Quarks! So far, we’ve raised an incredible $6,216 and 18% of our families have already joined in.
NEW PRIZE ALERT:
Help us hit $20,000 and ALL STUDENTS will have a chance to water balloon shower their teacher!
If 65% of our students donate $100, we will hit our $20,000 goal or if all 310 students donates $65 we’ll make it to $20,000 in no time!

This week, our teachers will be delivering age-appropriate lessons around the importance and value of living a drug-free life.
To celebrate this week with fun, we will hold the following Spirit Days this week:
Monday, October 26
"Put a Cap on Drugs" - Wear a Hat to School (The crazier the better!)
Tuesday, October 27
"Sock it to Drugs" - Wear Crazy Socks
Wednesday, October 28
"Team up Against Drugs" - Wear your favorite sports team gear
Thursday, October 29
"Follow Your Dreams" - Wear Pajamas (wear shoes you can run in!)
Friday, October 30
Halloween or "Red Day" - Wear Your Halloween Costume
or anything Red
Halloween Costumes
Students may wear a costume to school on Friday, October 30th if they would like. Please ensure that there is no blood/gore or weapons of any kind (including toy guns or swords) and ensure that they can sit in their chairs with their costume on.
You may want to consider having your student bring a change of clothes they can change into at recess (this will keep costumes from getting damaged or worn).
Trunk or Treat This Friday, 10/30

Join us Wednesday, November 4th for an evening of creativity, connection, and community! Bring the whole family for a fun-filled Family Origami Time from 6pm - 6:30pm, where we'll fold, create, and discover the art of origami together.
Then, stick around for our PTA Association Meeting from 6:30–7:30pm to connect with fellow Quantum Academy families, hear the latest updates, and help shape the exciting things ahead for our school.

Veterans Day Honor Wall & Slideshow
With Veterans Day approaching, we are excited to honor our Veterans and Active-Duty family and friends with a variety of activities.
Our 7th grade students will be creating up a special wall of honor in our Great Hall where we will post photos as well as inspirational stories and historical facts.
We are also creating a slideshow with photos of Veterans and Active Duty personnel connected to our Quantum students. We would love to include any photos you would be willing to share! Please click the button below to submit photos. If you submitted photos last year, we will use those once again unless you prefer that we do not.
Throughout the month of November, our students will also be putting together care packages with personal notes and goodies to send to those currently serving to encourage and thank them for their sacrifice.

Opportunity to Volunteer to Work With Our Students!
In November, we're excited to kick off our "Recipe of the Month" classes which will take place during students' PE classes once per month. In these classes, students will prepare dishes using food grown in our very own garden!
We are looking for parent volunteers to join us! Volunteers will help students prepare a recipe, learn basic cooking skills, and enjoy the experience of creating something together. It promises to be a fun and rewarding time with our students!
