Principal Update
Hello Conway Families,
We had a fantastic first week back! Seeing our students enter campus with bright smiles brought so much joy to our staff. To kick off the year, our team planned a special "Week of Welcome" where students got to know their class crew, teachers, and campus.
Our theme this year is Camp Conway – Everyone Plays a Piece. Every student, staff member, parent, and community partner plays a vital role in our collective success, and we can’t wait to watch our students grow!
Here are a few important updates and upcoming events:
- Back to School Night is Thursday, August 27th: Please join us for the Principal’s Welcome, Title 1 presentation, and PTA meeting, followed by grade-level classroom presentations. To help teachers relay essential information, this is an adults-only event (no childcare provided). Thank you for your support in setting the stage for a strong partnership this year!
- Rooms App Support: If you aren't connected on Rooms yet, you're missing key teacher updates! Visit the blue tables from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM during Back to School Night for hands-on setup help.
- iReady Testing Starts Tuesday: Kindergarten through 6th-grade students begin their first iReady Reading assessment on Tuesday. Please ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast so they can do their best! Results will be shared during October Student-Led Conferences.
- Lastly, our EXPLORE classes are starting soon! See below for information on classes and sign up on the Google FormWe look forward to seeing you all on Thursday night for our Back to School Night!

Please save the date! Thursday August 27 is our 2026 Back To School Night.
Back to School Night is one of the most important events of the year! It’s your chance to step into your child’s daily world, meet their teachers, and learn about the exciting goals, routines, and expectations for the upcoming school year.
When families and schools work together as partners, students thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Attending this event helps build a strong bridge between home and school, showing your child that their education is a shared team effort.
We can't wait to see you there, share our vision for the year, and kick off a successful journey together!

ELOP Explore After School Enrichment
EUSD students are given the opportunity to EXPLORE their unlimited potential through our our extensive menu of enrichment and intervention classes! These after school enrichment and intervention classes are led by both outside vendors and EUSD teachers.
Priority enrollment will go to foster/homeless youth, students eligible for free or reduced-price meals, and English learners.

Escondido Parent Leadership Institute Fall 2026 (Spanish)
In partnership with SDCOE, EUSD is hosting a six-week workshop series – starting on September 18 – aimed at building parent capacity to engage as school leaders and essential partners in supporting academic success.

About the Program
Our six-week, easy-to-understand learning institute is designed to be simple and enjoyable to equip parents and caregivers with the tools to become effective advocates for children and agents of positive change in their communities.
By exploring your passions, strengths, and ideas, you'll develop leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
The Parent Leadership Institute provides families with the opportunity to learn, grow, and strengthen their voice within schools.
Families Will Learn About
- The history about public education
- How schools make decisions
- School finances
- Student academic achievement
- ELAC/DELAC, which helps support students who are multilingual
Join us and become an empowered parent leader!
This training will be conducted in Spanish.
