Welcome Back!

Dear Reidy Creek Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you all had a wonderful summer filled with relaxation and special moments with family. I am excited to share that at the end of last school year, I completed my Doctorate in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Teaching. I am eager to bring this deep passion for learning and teaching into our school community this year. My family and I celebrated this milestone with a trip to Hawaii! We had many fun adventures, including hiking, snorkeling with manta rays, and ziplining. Whether you traveled this summer or stayed home, I hope you are ready to embark on a new school year.

To our returning families, welcome back! To those who are new to Reidy Creek Elementary, we can't wait to meet you. Reidy Creek is truly a special place, built on a long tradition of academic excellence, dedicated and loving teachers, strong family engagement, and memorable community events. Our team looks forward to partnering with you to support every student in reaching their full potential, both academically and socially. I will share another update next week with key details about the first week of school. The school office opens on Wednesday, August 5th. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Lastly, mark your calendars for our Back-to-School Nights. More specific information regarding session times will come in the next few weeks. Childcare will be provided at both events.

Monday, August 17th: Kindergarten Meet and Greet and Back to School Night, 3:00 pm
Thursday, August 20th: TK and 1st-5th Grade Back to School Night, 5:00 pm

Communication Expectations

Throughout the year, my goal is to help families stay informed and involved as strong partners with us in educating and supporting our students. Here are the ways we will communicate with you.

  • Every Friday afternoon, you will receive a weekly Coyote Connection. This newsletter will highlight any school activities and inform you of important and upcoming events.
  • We will continue to update our Reidy Creek School Website throughout the year.
  • Classroom teachers will send newsletters, emails, and other important notifications through the EUSD Rooms app. Once your child's teacher is assigned, please make sure that you subscribe to their account. Directions will be sent once the year is underway.

Class Lists

Class lists will be available on PowerSchool on Friday, August 14th, at 5:00 pm. You will be receiving a welcome email from your child's teacher before the first day of school.

Our staff worked very hard to create well-balanced classrooms, and many of our grade levels are at capacity. Please note that due to these factors, we will not be able to make any changes to class placement.

First Day of School

We're looking forward to seeing all of our students on August 18th. School will begin at 8:10 that morning, with the blacktop open for parking at 7:40. If you are parking on the blacktop, please walk to the front of the school to enter campus through the gates.

Here is some important information regarding drop-off and pick-up for the first few days. As many of you know, we have very limited parking, and it is important that all families read through our policies clearly to help drop-off and pick-up run smoothly!

Drop-Off:
-Gates will open at 7:50 for families to start coming on campus.
-TK-2nd grade: Classrooms will open at 8 am. Parents are welcome to walk their children to their classroom and say goodbye.
-3rd-5th grade: Families can walk their children to the blacktop and say goodbye there.

Pick-Up:
-Students will receive colored limo signs on the first day of school. Moving forward, please ensure these signs are clearly visible in the front window.
-All cars picking up third, fourth, fifth, and separate class students must go through our bus loop to pick up students.
-All cars picking up TK-second grade students can turn left and pick up students in front of the Kindergarten playground.
-Please DO NOT get out of your vehicle in the pick-up line. If you need assistance getting your child buckled in, please pull all the way forward to the end of the lane by our TK/K Playground. Our staff outside can also help.
-Please pull all the way down to the end of the loop before picking up your child. We will have staff outside to help direct cars.
-After the first day of school, if you would like your older sibling to pick up a younger sibling, they can pick them up outside the Kindergarten gate and bring them back to the bus loop for pickup. Please let your younger child's teacher know this information.
-After the traffic has cleared in the pick-up line, any remaining students will be walked to the office at 3:00 pm, where they will wait to be picked up.
-Parents will need to provide an ID to pick up late students. If you send someone else to pick up your student, we will need their ID and verbal permission for pick up.

Breakfast and Lunch:
-Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students free of charge.
-Breakfast is served before school from 7:30-8:00.
-Every day, students have the option of bringing their lunch or getting hot lunch through the cafeteria. The menu for each month will always be posted at the bottom of the Coyote Connection.

We appreciate your help and cooperation and look forward to a smooth first day!

Important Health Office Notice Regarding Emergency Medication

If your student requires emergency medication (e.g., Inhaler, Epi-Pen, Diastat, Valtaco, or Baqsami), please submit an updated doctor’s order (dated after June 10th) along with the medication to the health office prior to the first day of school. Students cannot attend school without these on file.

YMCA Enrollment: If your child is enrolled in the YMCA program, please note that a separate set of medication and doctor’s orders must also be provided directly to the YMCA staff.

Medication No Longer Needed: If your child no longer requires emergency medication at school, please provide a doctor’s note stating it is no longer necessary so your student can attend.

Drop-off Schedule: Starting this Wednesday, 08/05/26, our office will be open Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Please make sure to drop off medications and paperwork during these two weeks prior to the first day of school.

School Supplies

We will be providing all of the school supplies that students need here at school so there is no need to purchase anything.

The only item that students will need is a full size backpack to transport items to/from school, a water bottle, and a lunch box for a morning snack. Please make sure all items are labeled with your child's first and last name including jackets.

We know we have many generous parents who are eager to donate to their child's classroom. After school begins, many teachers will share wish lists of various items that can be provided specifically for their classroom.
