Dear Families,

We had another hot week here at Reidy Creek, and everyone is looking forward to some cooler temperatures next week. We were able to get students outside today, although many of them still chose to stay in the MPR during lunch/recess. We also were able to begin our Recess Reimagined Program this morning and it was a huge hit! Students loved the opportunity to play with some new games and equipment outside.

I want to take this opportunity to share a few upcoming events at school so you can mark your calendars.

Bubble Run
Date: October 1, 2026
Overview: The Bubble Run is Reidy Creek PTA's major annual fundraiser to help raise funds for vital school projects, community events, and school equipment! We will kick off the fundraiser next Friday morning during our morning assembly. On October 1st, students will participate in a fun run around our field. Parents are welcome to attend and run with their child. Stay tuned for more information next week!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Dates: October 8–9, 2026 (Note: There will be no school on these days)
Overview: Parent-Teacher Conferences offer a dedicated time for teachers and families to meet one-on-one. During these meetings, teachers will discuss grade-level expectations as well as your student's individual progress. Sign-up notifications will be sent out on September 24th.

Book Fair
Dates: October 12–16, 2026
Overview: Hosted by the PTA, the Scholastic Fall Book Fair brings a wonderful selection of books right to campus! It is a great opportunity for students to discover new books and build a love for reading while supporting the school. We will be looking for volunteers to help with this event. An interest form will be sent out soon.

Thank you to all the families who attended our first PTA Association meeting of the year. Our PTA is a huge support to our school, and they provide our students and staff with many resources throughout the year that benefit everyone here at Reidy Creek. Currently, we have 165 members of our PTA. Please help us reach our goal of 200! It's easy to join, and there's no commitment for being a member. We also have one of our biggest events coming up and need your help!

On Friday, October 30th, we will be hosting our fourth annual Boo Bash! This event will be held from 5pm-7pm and will have games, crafts, food, music, and, of course, candy. For this event to be a success, we need parent volunteers to help prepare activities, run games, and clean up.

If you are interested in helping with any part of this event, please sign up on the form below. You will be contacted within the next few weeks with more details. This event is not possible without the help of parent volunteers.

We currently have two open spots on our School Site Council. A School Site Council is comprised of the principal, school staff, parents/guardians/and community members. School Site Councils typically meet 3-4 times per year. The School Site Council is responsible for:

-Assisting the principal in the development of the School Plan for Student Achievement
-Approving the completed School Plan for Student Achievement
-Reviewing and analyzing assessment data
-Monitoring the implementation of the School Plan for Student Achievement

Our first School Site Council meeting is Monday, October 5th, at 3pm.

Submit your 2026-27 School Site Council nomination (opens in a new tab) if you are interested in running. All submissions are due by Friday, September 25th.

EXPLORE classes begin next week! Permission slips were sent to all students who got into classes. Emails were sent to all students on waitlists and to all who are missing a permission slip.

We are still missing approximately 30 permission slips. If your child's permission slip is NOT turned in by the first day of class, they can not attend and could lose their place to a student on the waitlist.

We still have openings in the following classes:
Lab Rats: 3rd-5th grades Mon/Wed
Rugby: 3rd-5th grades Mon/Wed
CSP: 3rd-5th grades Mon/Wed 2:45- 4:15 pm
Allegro Strings: 3rd-5th grades - both classes 2:45- 3:45 and 4- 5pm
Art & Words: An Art Journaling Adventure 4th/5th grades Mon/Wed

As I've previously shared, this year we have a goal of 95% average daily attendance this year. To promote the importance of attendance, we will be having various activities throughout the year to motivate students to come to school. Our first school-wide activity is to create and submit a poster that highlights why “EVERY DAY COUNTS”. This is an opportunity for students to share their views on why they feel attendance is important. I can't wait to see what our students come up with!

Here is some other information:

• The top poster from Reidy Creek will be made into a life size poster with the student's name.
• Individualized stickers of the top poster design will be created.
• The top poster submitted from each school site will be entered in a district-wide contest.
• The top poster from all sites will be posted on the district attendance webpage.
• All posters can be turned in to the front office and are due by September 30th.

All of our lunch-and-learns have been scheduled for the remainder of the year. Our first Lunch and Learn will be for first-grade families on Wednesday, September 30th. Dr. Loh and Ms. Sullivan will be presenting on social-emotional learning and how best to support your child at home.

Here are all the dates for each grade level's lunch and learn:

September 30, 2026 - 1st Grade - 10:20 AM
January 27, 2027 - Kinder - 10:20 AM
February 24, 2027 - 4th Grade - 11:10 AM
March 10, 2027 - 2nd grade - 11:40 AM
April 14, 2027 - 3rd Grade - 11:40 AM
April 28, 2027 - 5th Grade - 11:10 AM
May 12, 2027 - TK - 12:00 PM

The parent presentations will all be in the MPR 30 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. After the presentation, families will be invited to enjoy lunch in the courtyard with their child. Grade-level flyers will be sent home closer to each event.

Hello Reidy Creek Families!
One of the Family Liaison’s main roles is to connect families with community resources, whether you need help with affordable internet, food, housing, or other essential services.

This week, you will see a packet coming home from Neighborhood Healthcare’s Mobile Dental Services. They can provide dental services right here at Reidy Creek using their Mobile Dental Unit once enough students are registered.

If this is a program you would like to take advantage of, please complete the Registration Form included in the packet and return it to our front office. If your student participated last year, you will still need to complete a new form for this school year. If you ever need help accessing community resources or other services, please feel free to reach out.

Volunteer Opportunities
We kicked off our Recess Reimagined games today, and students are already loving having extra activities to enjoy during recess! Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up so far.

If you have some free time on Friday mornings, please consider signing up for a day. Your help will make a big difference in providing our students with fun and engaging activities during recess!
